THEATRE GROUP - EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE

Everybody

The Theatre Group have booked tickets to see ‘Everybody’s talking about Jamie’ on Wednesday 22nd January 2020 at the Apollo Theatre in London.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is brought to the West End by Dan Gillespie Sells (singer-songwriter of The Feeling) and Tom MacRae (writer for Doctor Who).
This brand new British musical is the inspirational story of Jamie New, a 16-year old schoolboy from Sheffield who decides he wants to go to his school prom in a dress. The story takes inspiration from the BBC Three documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, which followed the true story of Jamie Campbell.
With an infectious original score from Gillespie Sells, which includes instant classics such as “And You Don't Even Know It”, “He's My Boy” and “The Wall In My Head”, the story explores Jamie’s relationship with the kids at school, his mother, and himself.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie started life in Sheffield with a run at the Crucible Theatre, and transferred to London’s Apollo Theatre with previews beginning on 6th November 2017, and an official opening night on 22nd November.
The production is the first foray into musicals for Gillespie Sells and MacRae, who realised the idea to make the story into a musical from director Jonathan Butterell.

The cost is £47 per person including the cost of the coach and drivers tip. Payment needs to be paid as soon as possible, please.
We will leave Cheshunt from outside of where Lloyds Bank used to be at 11.a.m. I have seen a few people who have seen this show and they have said it is very funny.

FUTURE SHOWS

-----
Also booked is ’Cabaret’ at Milton Keynes Theatre on the 22nd April. The cost is £47 per person. Payment for this show will be needed on 23rd January at the latest.
Set in early 1930s, the KitKat Club opens the doors to life in Berlin during this troubling time where anything goes; sex, drugs, and American Jazz. The attitude of the times reflected in the view of “live for today”.
John Partridge, Emcee of the club, guides the audience through the threads of the show, bringing a very dry and dark humour to proceedings. John Partridge plays the sinister role well, his demeanour, wit and enthusiasm for the part all carry a dark side that is reminiscent of the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, always inviting you in to be part of the debauchery.
Into it enters an aspiring American author, Cliff, played by Charles Haggerty who reprises the role he played on the 2017 tour. He portrays the role well, acting as the calming, morale based centre of the manic world around him.
He takes lodgings with Fraulein Schneider (Anita Harris), who despite her ageing years, has a wit and charm that ingratiates her, along with her man friend, Herr Schultz (James Paterson), to the audience. Anita Harris, plays the Fraulein with all the grace and poise of a truly skilled actress, her vocals perfectly delivered.
Cliff meets the carefree, impetuous Sally Bowles at the KitKat Club, and a relationship ensues through her dogged chasing of him. Their relationship always being driven by her whimsical ways and his boyish naivety on life. Kara Lily Hayworth brings emotion to the role, on the outside Sally is the happy go lucky girl, but underneath are home truths about her past which show her vulnerability. The pick up point and coach time for all shows will always be 11a.m. outside what was Lloyds Bank unless otherwise stated
