2022 marked forty years since the inception of the national U3A. Forty years of living, laughing and learning.
Witney U3A’s two writers’ groups celebrated this remarkable anniversary just as you’d expect – by writing. They produced a book of short pieces, and called it 40 Years On... Members contributed accounts of places they’ve visited, both abroad and closer to home; memories of their younger days; lots of short fiction; some poems; and plenty more besides: something to suit every taste.

Writers group 2 was formed in March 2022 in response to a lot of enthusiasm shown at the first open day for two years.
We have 6 members who have varying degrees of experience but share a love of the written word and a keenness to explore and develop their writing skills. We meet at a member’s home on the second Wednesday of each month at 2.30pm, though the venue may change if the group grows larger. At each meeting, the leader sets a brief, which is designed to act as a trigger for the imagination, then next time we read and discuss.
