Book group 4
We have not been meeting during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have considered meeting up outside and also by Zoom but members have decided not to pursue these at the present time. We hope to resume in January 2021
We normally meet in members' homes on the fourth Thursday of each month at 2.00 pm; there is no charge. Each host/hostess organises tea/coffee and biscuits. Our books are sent from the Library Store to Witney Library and are collected monthly. The Library sends out updated new arrival lists from time to time and we choose which books interest us. There is no order of arrival but each book has been chosen by a book group member. We have no idea what will arrive each month - it keeps us in suspense and on our toes and also enables us to read something which we possibly may not have considered otherwise; we quite like not knowing, a bit like a "waiting to open gifts" feeling, anticipating a new title each time.
The group is full at the present time. If you are interested in joining a Book Group please contact the Groups Administrator.
Recently read books include:
Restless by William Boyd, Ordinary Thunderstorms by William Boyd, Isolarian by James Atlee, Flight by Isabel Ashdown, Suite Francais by Irene Nemirovsky, the Idea of Perfection by Kate Grenville, Lost and Found by Tom Winter.
