For our April 2022 meeting the Gardening group paid a visit to Harcourt Arboretum to see the Rhododendrons and Azaleas. We were greeted by the peacock at the entrance and had a lovely stroll in perfect spring weather. The Rhododendrons were at their best and we were just in time to see the Bluebells. Many thanks to Frances for taking the photos.
Prior to the pandemic 24 members of the Gardening group and the Local History group had a joint visit to Kingston Bagpuize House. We had a very interesting guided tour of the house given by the owner Virginia Grant, who lives there with her family. The grounds had a lovely display of snowdrops when we visited and we were able to explore without getting wet or muddy. Spring was definitely on the way. We saw various species of daffodils hellebores and spring flowering shrubs. Afterwards we had tea and delicious home made cakes.
We intend to visit a number of other local gardens in the future. For more information contact the Gardening Group Leader
