Witney

Table tennis

There are currently 25 members in our table tennis group and between ten and twenty pitch up every Thursday between 10:00 and 12:00 to do battle on our three tables in the Upper Hall at the Witney Methodist Church. No need for u3a members to book.

We usually play doubles, with pairs forming between matches on an ad-hoc basis. Our members are reasonably competent players, many of whom first played the game in Youth Clubs too many years ago to remember! We don’t compete in any leagues and while things aren’t taken too seriously, each game is fiercely contested. Bragging rights are up for grabs but the whole point is to simply enjoy the morning! Breaks between games not only provide time for recuperation, but also to catch up on all the local news.
