Italian for Beginners

Italian for Beginners

The intention is to enable group members to be confident to deal with the essentials of a visit to Italy - greet, introduce, deal with hotel reservations, order meals, ask for (and understand!) directions etc - and also to give the feeling of being more at home in Italy than without any understanding of the language or country. The group has now been going for a year and good progress has been made. We now also look at newspaper articles of current affairs from time to time, and consider short stories regularly. The hope is that members will develop a good appreciation of this most beautiful language. The group usually meets twice a month on Wednesday mornings. Currently there are some vacancies for anyone who has done some Italian before - as the group should now be called 'Italian for a bit more than beginners' to reflect the progress of the first year of the group.
