Art, Craft and Mosaics

Art

The Art Group wish to invite members of all levels of ability who want to draw or paint in a pleasant creative club. We meet at the Methodist Church Hall in Rhododendron Avenue on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 9:30am to 12:00 noon. The fee is £3.00 per attendance to cover the hall rent and coffee breaks. There is no tuition so some experience in art may prove useful. The members with high ability will always offer advice if asked in order to help you overcome your art problems. Occasionally we are invited to exhibit our work at local exhibitions and the main corridor at North Devon Hospital. We have Art tuition DVD’S and books for free loan to our members to take home and return at a future session. Members bring all their own painting and drawing materials. Everyone helps with setting up the tables and tidying at the end of the session. Tea or coffee and biscuits are available on a self help basis in the kitchen.

The maximum group size of 18 members is limited by the available table space in the hall. Any vacancies will be advertised in the newsletter art section. If you wish to join the group to fill a vacancy please call me using the form on our Contact page.

Knitting

The Knitting Group meet every 2nd Thursday and 4th Friday of every month. We have learners, improvers and accomplished knitters who are friendly and willing to help those who need it. At present we do not have any gentlemen but all would be welcome. Just bring your needles, wool and pattern and you're ready to go (needles, wool and patterns are available if you wish). Come along and give knitting a whirl. You have nothing to lose and plenty of future knitted garments for you and your family.

Mosaics

The Group meets from 10:00am to 13:00pm at the Methodist Church Hall, Rhododendron Avenue.
