If you are tempted to join Taw U3A - please have look around this website. It will give you a good idea of the sort of activities we hold. Our 'Groups' page lists all the 'Special Interest Groups' that we run and the days in each month that these groups meet. To see more details of any particular group - left click on that group's name in the list at the bottom of the 'Groups' page. Any member of Taw U3A can join as many of these groups as they like, as long as they have space to take an additional member. Our 'Events' page shows some of the activities that are open to all of our members.
Membership of the U3A is open to all who are in the third age of their life, that is, out of full-time employment. Although Taw U3A is based in Barnstaple, anyone living in the North Devon area is welcome to apply for membership.
To assist those thinking of joining Taw U3A the Trustees have compiled a useful information pack, which includes a membership application form. The membership runs from 1st April to 31st March. Annual membership fee is £12.00 per person, reduced to £6.00 if joining after 1st October, and is free for those over 90 years old. There are small additional costs in some groups to cover the hire of a meeting place, equipment or refreshments.
