Welcome to Taw U3A, one of the many independent charities operating under the umbrella of the international charity, The University of the Third Age. We are an affiliated member of our national organisation, The Third Age Trust, which was established in 1982. Since that time interest has flourished and there are now over 1,000 U3A branches across the UK and membership is now approaching half a million.
Each of these individual U3As has similar objectives, the main one being to encourage and enable members to continue to learn from each other after leaving full time employment, by providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. To learn more about the aims of the U3A, look at the website of our national organisation by clicking on the U3A logo at the top right of any of our pages.
Taw U3A’s emphasis is also on the social opportunities provided. We believe that meeting together in a friendly and social environment is as important as learning itself and actually helps the process. Much of this is achieved through our special interest Groups. Details of the range of interests we cover will be found on our Groups page.
The sociable aspects of Taw U3A are enhanced by the Monthly Coffee Mornings. Details of these, and other events, can be seen on our Events page.

Why not try us out by coming along to one of our Coffee Mornings soon. We look forward to welcoming you
