In 1992, with increasing local interest in U3A membership, Taw U3A was formed as a second branch in the Barnstaple area of North Devon. In 2022 we will be 30 years old, and we now have over 300 members and 40 Interest Groups.

Policies and Procedures adopted by Taw U3A
All Members of Taw U3A have agreed to abide by the Terms and Conditions of Membership, which appears on the Membership Application/Renewal Form.

The present Taw Constitution can be viewed by clicking on the link in the list at the top right of this page.

The Membership-year of Taw U3A changed in 2021 and now runs from 1st April to 31st March with a membership fee of £12.00 per person, reduced to £6.00 if joining after 1st October and free for those over 90 years old. There are small additional costs in some Groups to cover the hire of a meeting place, equipment or refreshments. Northern Devon U3A Chairman’s Forum
The chairman from the U3A’s in Northern Devon meet three times a year to exchange good practice and to discuss problems.  

U3A National Organisation
The National body of the U3A arranges events open to all members. These can be viewed by logging in to the 'Members Area' at https://www.u3a.org.uk and visiting the 'Events' page. There you can also opt to receive their newsletter, which shows information about future events.

U3A Development Plan 2020-2023
The U3A Head Office have produced a 'Development Plan for the years 2020 to 2023. A copy of this can be read by clicking Development Plan.
