Have you ever read headlines such as:
- ‘The stresses of modern life are fueling the rise in depression’
- ‘Electrical brain stimulation can improve learning’
- ‘Playing a musical instrument can prevent dementia’
and wondered "What evidence is there for this? How valid is that evidence? Does this tell me anything useful for my life?
If so, this group is for you!
You don’t need to have any background knowledge of psychology, just an enquiring mind. The group will look into topical issues relating to Psychology (i.e. human behaviour) which has appeared in the media (newspapers/radio/t.v. etc.) and take a critical look at the research to evaluate its merits and consider whether it has any relevance to our own lives.
