Architecture Appreciation
Architecture Appreciation
Co-ordinator: Carole Sutton
Meetings: 1st Tuesday in the month, 10.00 – 11.30 a.m., Abbott Hall Social Centre.
We usually have a break about halfway through our meetings when a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits are available.
The group is well established and has followed a varied and successful programme which, although interrupted by the coronavirus, has now resumed meetings.
We enjoy talks from those with a particular knowledge of or interest in a given field, followed by discussion and questions. We have had several visits led by our subject specialist, Richard Pealing, to places of architectural interest in Kendal and hope that further such visits can be arranged.
In order to encourage more people to take part in the programme of the group, it has been suggested that 3 or 4 people might speak for 5–10 minutes each on their favourite building, saying a little about it, and why they like it so much. The building could be illustrated by a simple photograph, which could be passed round, in order to minimise the anxiety which some people feel about matters technical.
We plan to resume meetings in September.
We are a friendly group and welcome newcomers.
