Writing for Pleasure
Co-ordinators: George Watson and Ann Quintilla
Meetings: Monthly, 1 st Thursday, 2.00 p.m.
The small group restarted, in Ann’s apartment in Kendal, in November and has welcomed a new member.
One person wrote an amusing piece about ‘Seven vertically challenged non-gender specific persons and Covid 19’ - no prize for guessing who these are.
Another entertained us with two songs she had written. She sang them and accompanied herself on a ukulele. No one could claim there is no variety with this group.
One member lamented the loss of his muse and, as others have experienced a similar loss, we have a title for our next offerings - The Party - although everyone is free to write what they want.
We were very pleased to welcome 2 more new members to the group. Fortunately our muses seem to have come out of hiding and we are all writing again on a variety of themes and in very different styles.
One member wrote two songs that she sang to us, accompanying herself on a ukulele. Great entertainment! That was definitely a first for this group.
If anyone else would like to join this group and share their poetry or prose with us they would be most welcome. Contact Ann Quintilla using the messaging link at top right.
