CULTURE LIVE
Our Culture Live Group aims to enable you (in the spirit of Preston & District U3A's philosophy) to choose to experience things (in our case of a broadly cultural nature) that you may have fancied doing, but have not had the opportunity to try before. Or it may be that there are interests you already hold, but wish to share, explore and enjoy these in the company of other U3A members.
The Steering Team, Rees Ballard, Clare Burton-Johnson, Tony Cheetham and Jo Betts regularly organise events, but any member is encouraged to suggest and organise tickets and travel for other members. The Steering Team is on hand to provide advice and guidance about this.
Our events have included
Ballet and dance (modern, ethnic and classical)
Opera (including live staged, broadcast in cinemas and abroad)
Theatre (drama and musicals)
Music (classical, folk, jazz, ethnic etc.)
Art and other specialist exhibitions
We look for quality events that we can attend as economically as possible.
An ACTIVITY CALENDAR is prepared which highlights forthcoming events and who is organising them. The current calendar can be found by clicking the link on the righthand side of the page.
Group Meetings
Group members have the opportunity to meet together at St Cuthbert's from time to time for a Coffee Morning or Afternoon Tea. The Steering Team will introduce highlights of the events on the Activity Calendar, and members have a chance to ask supplementary questions and /or sign up for events that they would like to attend. Always bring your diary with you!!
It also provides you with a chance to discuss with other members anything you have enjoyed/would recommend, or would like to see in the future.
The next of these meetings are Afternoon Teas arranged for the following dates:

Things you need to know
Preston & District U3A will not be responsible for any financial arrangements made amongst Culture Live members. TAT insurance does not cover Social events organised between members.
Once a ticket (performance and/or travel) has been purchased on your behalf by the organiser, those tickets belong to you and the organiser reimbursed as arranged. If you subsequently are unable to attend, we will help you try to find someone else to use those tickets and reimburse you, but this of course cannot be guaranteed.
If you have any questions about the Culture Live Group, please contact the Group Leader via the Bluebird Link and we will be happy to help.
