|Meeting:||2nd Wednesday morning of the month.|
|Venue:||Melrose Room, St. Cuthbert's Church Centre.|
|Group Leader:||Gael Hughes-Jones|
New members are very welcome. If you wish to contact the Group Leader about joining the group, please do so via the Bluebird link at the top of the Group page. To receive a reply, please remember to include a telephone number for security purposes.
Previous experience is not necessary. The best way to learn and improve is to listen to other writers in the Group but guidance and support can be given if required. You can write Stories, Prose or Poetry.
The format for most sessions is reading and discussing the set homework and then writing informally for about 20 minutes on a given topic. We then feed back our efforts to the group. If there is time, we then have a general 'writing-based' discussion amongst ourselves.
The session ends with an agreed exercise for "homework" being set. Suggestions from group members are always welcome.
Remember you can write a story, prose-piece or poem, fact or fiction. Pieces of writing are usually 500 words +/- 10%
10th July. Write a story, prose piece or poem entitled 'The Dark Horse'
(to be read out at August meeting)
14 August. Write a story, prose piece or poem entitled 'If Time Stood Still'.
(to be read out at September meeting)
Group Leader: Gael Hughes-Jones.
