SHORT WALKS 1
This group undertakes walks of up to three miles. There will be a limit on numbers for this group, but there are two other walking groups within this u3a.
Meets on 4th Wednesday of each month
PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR FOR THE WALKS BEING UNDERTAKEN AND THE WEATHER ON THE DAY OF THE WALK
FEBRUARY
Today's 4 mile walk was lead by Fran and started from Jennycliffe CP, visiting Mountbatten, Turnchapel and Hooe. The weather was damp and misty but the cheerful group of nine enjoyed themselves. We did get very wet on the final short uphill section back to the car park. Five of the group then enjoyed a light lunch in Jennycliffe cafe.
JANUARY
On Wednesday 17th Jan five members of the newly formed Short Walks 1 met at Saltram to do a 3 mile walk around the grounds. Weather was kind to us the was a chill in the air but we had all dressed up hat and gloves. The snowdrops were begining to show themselves will not be long before there will be a lovely carpet of them. After our stroll we all had a hot drink and snack in the cafe.
