Our books are chosen by members and our choices are wide ranging. We have discovered new, popular and lesser known authors, have taken pleasure in re-reading favourite classics and later this year we will start to include a number of short stories.
There are currently 14 local and one overseas member and all actively contribute to our lively discussions where varying views are expressed during our very warm and friendly meetings. During our December meeting we reflect back on the books we have read to determine our Book of the Year. Whilst we have often had our own individual personal preferences, we all agree we have enjoyed some challenging and stimulating reads.
“2018 has been a very successful year for Reading Group 2 with all monthly meetings being very well attended. We have also enjoyed two very successful social events , a Summer Strawberries and Fizz Garden Party and our Christmas celebration. We look forward to an equally enjoyable 2019.”
Whilst we consider our Reading Group is currently of the optimum size at present, we will keep this under review and will be pleased to welcome new members if our present numbers reduce.
