Grumpy Old Men (GOMS)
In 2016 a challenge was put out from March u3a to our Chairman at the time that Hu3a would not have a group like this within 6 months. The challenge was taken up immediately, initially with 18 men who openly admitted they were grumpy and in need of somewhere to share their grumpiness without upsetting their partners and so the adventure began.
We meet the first Monday of the month at Wetherspoons in Huntingdon between 7 and 9pm. (Please be aware we are not a drinking club, we avoid politics or complaining about our other halves). In addition, we also meet on the third Thursday of each month for a breakfast club at 9am also at Wetherspoons. A reminder is sent out by the Group Leader to members of GOMS a couple of days beforehand.
Apart from our regular sessions, we have visited Churchill’s War Rooms, National Photography Museum, China Town, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Amazon Distribution Centre and Stanstead Airport.
Any other miserable men who wish to join us are more than welcome.
