Photography Group
The group meets twice a month - indoors during the winter (October - March) and over the summer (April - September) one meeting is indoors and the other is 'Out and About' to take photos at various places which offer different photographic opportunities. There are sometimes themes for photos but sometimes it is based on 'whatever catches your eye'. In 2023 visits have included Cambridge town and, on a separate occasion, a photographers guided tour of the new Mosque in Cambridge, a National Trust garden - to practice 'intentional camera movement' and a local nature reserve. Venues vary from year to year. In the past there was a 'Guided Bus' safari - AKA 'How wet can you get in a morning' - and local town or countryside areas.
Winter meetings tend to be a time for learning new/improving old techniques and are generally led by a speaker from within the group. Indoor winter meetings usually include general viewing of photos - often based on a specific theme from a talk. The number of photos shown by each person is limited to give everyone time to show and explain and have comments on their pictures. Comments can lead to discussions/explanation of technique etc.
