MEETINGS: The group had been meeting weekly on zoom since April 2020 but over the summer of 2021 we interspersed zoom meetings with our usual format of local 'Out and About' meetings. As the days became colder we finally managed to get back into a hall and now meet twice a month. It is so much easier to show and discuss photos when everyone is in the same room!
Our 2021 zoom experience began with looking at kitchen equipment photos, early signs of spring (turned out to be snow), old buildings, office equipment, dominant colours, leading lines, my area and wood. The programme included zoom talks that lead us for canal walks, visits to old churches, Spanish gardens, tours of USA, Norfolk (UK) and several strolls through local places about which we discovered how little we know of our own local area. All that came without moving from our armchairs. Once we could embrace the right to roam we met up at local places of interest and ended the season at Ramesy Rural Museum on a day when we were the only visitors.
We live in hope that wewill not be redeeming our 'rain god' mantle in 2022. Memories of summer 2019 with its various soakings are still fixed in our minds.
Looking forward and onward through 2022 we hope to follow our normal pattern of two indoor winter meetings and one indoor and one outdoor meeting over summer.
