Coordinator: Monica Dyer

The Science Group meets on the first Thursday of each month.

We have had another interesting year, focusing on a range of topics.

Becky told us about organometallic compounds used as cancer drugs, Luca talked on membrane lipids, Emma on cognitive training in aging, Niharika on immunology, Harriet on animal routes in Africa, and Aerona on the geology of New Zealand.
Two of us attended the University's Research Festival --- lots of good stuff and also a useful recruiting ground for postgraduate speakers.
We paid our annual visit to the stores of the Lapworth Geology Museum --- a wealth of fascinating material.

The Branch Spring Fair, organized by Veronica Richards, was a huge success , our stall attracting a good deal of interest and favourable comment.
In the remaining meetings we shared scientific news, each of us bringing a press cutting for
discussion.
