The Science Group has had another interesting and enjoyable year.
We have maintained our fruitful relationship with Birmingham University. Postgraduate students have given us talks on; Continental Rifting, Science Communications and Heritage, Coatings for Medicinal Tablets, New Treatments for Brain Tumours, Salt Structures, and Tetrapods.
Members have given talks on; the Weather, the Eruption of Thera, and the Tasmanian Devil. We have watched two DVDs -- "The Roof of the World" and "Flying Monsters". We continue our study of one element a month when time permits.
Some of us attended the annual Research Poster Conference and the 3-Minute-Thesis finals. We act as judges.
We meet on the first Thursday of each month, usually at my home in Balsall Heath. At present we have room for one new member, and I keep a list of interested people who come as visitors when regular members are unable to attend
