Art Appreciation Group 3 continues to flourish and meets at 2pm on the 4th Monday of the month, usually in a member’s home.
Group members take it in turns to present a topic each month and we have enjoyed a varied programme throughout the year.
We kicked off with a look at the work of Fred Wilde in his book “Music in the Streets” which is a record of growing up in a close-knit mill town community. This set a “northern” theme for this year because we have also looked at the work of Joseph Wright of Derby, who has been acclaimed as "the first professional painter to express the spirit of the Industrial Revolution" and The Scottish Colourists.
Other presentations have covered, Depictions of Spring, Colour Connotations in Art and Realism in Art.
We are looking forward to presentations in the coming months and to planning the programme for 2020.
