Our programme from October 2019 /March 2020 included 2 visits, the first to the MAC cinema to watch a film covering the life of Gaugin and the second to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to view a small display of 'Dressing Up' and 'Protest' clothing.
Our home presentations gave us an insight into the work of glass sculptor Dale Chihuly, Japanese wood block printing, and the work of Brazilian artist Ana Maria Pacheco.
During the 'lock down' our group has kept in touch via emails and telephone calls. Some of our members have also continued with their presentations, also using emails. These covered Colours in Art, the use of Flowers in Art, the artist Artemesia Gentileschi, and a presentation on Icelandic Art.
An informal outdoor meeting was enjoyed by all at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, where the group expressed an interest in the continuation of the group.
Our present group consists of 7 members, under normal circumstances I would be showing 2/3 vacancies.
