Talking Books (Audio Book Club)

NEW GROUP

When: 2nd Monday at 2.00pm

Become a member of our new Talking Books group even if you believe you’re not the type of reader who will ever pick up an audiobook, or if you have tried them before and it didn’t work out at the time, you should definitely give them a few more tries - because once you get the hang of listening to them, you’ll be hooked!
An audiobook club can be the perfect step you need to get into them, so it’s well worth giving this new group a try - Using a free app, available through Croydon Libraries the Talking Books group will offer:

  • A combination of monthly FTF and Zoom social gatherings
  • A chance to listen to others and reflect on their point of view before defining it as wrong; two different perspectives may as well be equally correct
  • One of the best forms of reading with like - or not like-minded people.

Every month a new great adult audiobook will be added to your local library’s uLIBRARY Book Clubs tab for you to listen to for one month. All audiobooks are free. Once you have downloaded the app via your local library you can borrow other audio and eBooks belonging to Croydon Library and the Libraries Consortium.
Downloading the app is easy but the Group Leader will be happy to talk you through the process.
