  • Booking forms for all these events will be included in the Bulletins and can also be obtained at the general meetings.

National and some Regional U3A events are listed below as 'Other'. Also see the links to the London Region, and Surrey, Sussex and South East in the LINKS box right. The events shown on these websites are open to all U3A members.

GENERAL MEETINGS are held once a month on the second Wednesday between 1.45 - 4 pm at the FREEMASONS HALL in West Croydon.

  • Tea or coffee and biscuits are served from 1.45pm.
  • Visitors are welcome to attend once to see what we do and to speak to committee and other members.
  • It starts with our business meeting, in which members are informed of national and local U3A events and developments, followed by administrative matters.
  • The talk from an invited speaker begins after the raffle.

Tue Feb 20th 10am to 1pm Romantic Illustration Network/House of Illustration workshop at Granary Square, King's Cross.  The theme for this workshop is ‘Stars in their Eyes: Apotheosis, Illustration and Commemoration from the Ancients to the 21st Century’, which will consider how and why writers and artists from Ovid to David Bowie have been immortalised as constellations. The programme begins with a talk and discussion led by Dr David Fallon, followed by refreshments and a practical illustration workshop led by Merlin Strangeway. Admission to the House of Illustration (including special exhibitions) is included in the registration fee. Booking is open now on the House of Illustration's website.
