Gloucester & District

Wine and Events

This is a new group which intends to meet once a month and would suit anyone who enjoys a social occasion and learning a little more about different wines and beers. It will rely on sufficient Group Members hosting wine tasting events in their own homes and trips will also be organised to local businesses in the Wine and Drink Industry.

The first event to be arranged is a Tapas and Wine Tasting Evening on 8th June. This will be held at “Cafe on the Cut” a narrow boat moored in Gloucester Quays on 8th June and Group Members will take selected wine for tasting to compliment the food. The chef has stipulated she requires a glass of wine!!

On 27th July a Hosted Wine Tasting gathering will be held at a Group Members home. The theme will be South American Wines.
In August a visit to Gloucester Brewery for a Brewery Tour is planned.
In September a visit to the Three Choirs Vineyard for Wine Tasting/tour/lunch is also planned.

Details of the above events will appear in the U3a newsletters.
Anyone who is interested in the Group please contact Charles Martin.
