INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED MODERN GREEK
The current Intermediate Group have worked hard and are now far from being beginners. Anyone with Greek language knowledge is welcome to come along to see if they have a comparable level of Greek to the current group and thus able to join us if they so wished.
Another course for beginners would only be started if at least eight people registered interest in joining a new group. That number allows for the usual two or three who give up if they are not fluent after a fortnight.
Currently only one person has registered any interest.
Any new beginners' course is usually especially for those who have never tried to learn another language. The reason for this is that past experience has shown that those who have a little knowledge of the language often insist on showing that knowledge. Although not intended, this frequently causes complete beginners to feel inadequate, which is a shame, and the effect is difficult to cure.
If you are interested in the Intermediate Group or a new Beginners' Group please make contact by clicking on the bird (top right on this page) before attending, do not just turn up.#
We meet in the room that was the St John's Ambulance Committee Room adjacent to the old ambulance garage, in Blyburgate, Beccles. Access to this room is via some steps. Usual time is 14:30 to 16:30 on Thursday afternoons. If necessary, day and time can be varied to suit the group, which currently has 5/6 members.
The room for the group currently costs £10 for two hours hire.
No books are necessary, I will supply information as you progress. If you feel that you want a dictionary it would be a good idea if you all had a copy of the same one. This, unfortunately, rarely occurs,
