WELCOME TO THE GARDENING GROUP
The monthly Gardening Group meetings, usually held on the second Thursday of each month, are informal, friendly and fun. The content varies from illustrated presentations by recognised experts in the field of horticulture, and beyond, as well as lively discussions within the group.
Members are encouraged to participate by sharing their gardening experience with each other.
We welcome new faces.
Do come along, even if you have not been a member of the group in the past.
Just send a message via the bird to let us know that you will be there..
Note: Guests: (i.e. those who are not Beccles u3a members) are very welcome to come along, however we ask you to join Beccles u3a after attending two meetings.
Please note that we kindly request that all attendees, members and guests, pay the entrance fee to enable us to maintain the high quality of speakers, hall hire and refreshments.

ROLL UP, ROLL UP, ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR
You won't want to miss this folks, back by popular demand, our very own Garden Fair, we may not be the biggest, but we are arguably the best, it'll lift your spirits and send your pulse rate racing . . . it's the annual sharing frenzy of our members' glorious spare plants, coddled cuttings and carefully culled seeds. And that ain't all, hot on the heels of past successes we present yet another bargain filled auction of previously enjoyed garden ephemera. It's continued success depends on you, so search your sheds, look under your beds and come laden with gear for the auctioneer. See you there.
THURSDAY, JUNE 13
FRAGRANCE IN THE GARDEN
The power of scent more than any other of the senses, has the magic to take us places, whether it's a new flower that carries you off to an exotic unknown land, or a familiar and beloved lilac or rose that transports you back in time to a favourite auntie's garden where you made daisy chains as a child. A garden full of scent is not only sensual and emotionally evocative to us humans, it is also a real draw to the insect world tempting in the goodies and in some cases warding off the badies. Matt Tanton Brown, no stranger to our group, brings his horticultural prowess to bear on scent and the best plants that capture its magic, and how to put them to ascetic and practical use in our gardens.
