French Deux (2nd & 4th Mon)

French Deux Group
There are about a dozen of us in this French language group which started in January 2023. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, 2.30-5.00pm in the Committee Room at Tarporley Community Centre.
The group has recently opted to split into two sessions: the first half of the time, i.e. 1¼ hours, for the more advanced and the second half for the beginners. With the more advanced speakers we aim to speak in French as much as possible and members are encouraged to suggest topics for discussion, texts or short stories to read together. With the beginners, we are currently mainly using a BBC textbook; new/used copies of which are readily available online. Costs to attend cover room hire and photocopying fees.
Unfortunately we don’t have the benefit of having a native French speaker in the group so we have to help each other to remember vocabulary. We just hope to carry on learning together in a fun and relaxed environment, make some progress and keep the French that we do have fresh in our minds!
