Midway Walkers. More than a stroll!

Walks will continue as soon as the lockdown is cancelled

This group - now with 39 members - had its first walk on March 17th 2016.

The aim of the group is to share walks with healthy able-bodied members who can climb hills (not mountains nor Monroes!) and stiles, don't mind a bit of mud and are happy crossing fields (sometimes with cows and horses in) etc on public footpaths and like looking at the countryside and villages around Cheshire. Walking boots strongly recommended.

We aim to walk about 4-6 miles in about 2-3 hours, generally starting and ending in a pub car park! Optional lunch will usually follow. We also aim to start walks within a 40 minute driving radius of Tarporley. We walk on the THIRD THURSDAY MORNING of each month.

You can also click this link see some of our Completed Midway walks.

We invite wider membership of the group, to any U3A member who is fit enough to walk 6 miles with some slopes (say 800ft of total ascent) and preferably willing to lead a walk in the future. Anyone unable to lead walks are requested to assist another leader arranging the walk, organising the parking and lunch arrangements, and possibly accompanying the leader on the reconnoiter.
