Tarporley & District

Table Tennis

Table Tennis Group operates in both Tarporley and Kelsall.

KELSALL: Every Tuesday of the month at the Kelsall Community Centre (CW6 0SB) from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

TARPORLEY: Every Monday morning from 11.15 to 1.15 pm and Every Thursday afternoon from 2-4pm in Tarporley Community Centre (CW6 0AY)

The Kelsall membership exceeds 30 and there are about 20+ members at each meeting. The link to the right shows the location of Kelsall Community Centre.

In Kelsall we have 4 tables and play a mixture of singles and doubles. Many members would say it is something that they first played at school and in their student days and never since. So everyone is welcome at whatever level you are. Most people have surprised themselves at what improvement they have seen in their ability after just a few weeks attending. In Tarporley we currently have 3 tables.

If you cannot manage every week then that's fine, just turn up when you can and enjoy some exercise and some convivial company all washed down with a tea or coffee. In Tarporley, there is a £3 fee for each time you attend. In Kelsall, there is up to a £2 fee. In Kelsall, there are a few 'club' bats that can be used temporarily. If you decide to play continuously, you will need to purchase your own bat. One suitable website is www.table-tennis-tables.co.uk. (This is not a recommendation - there ARE many other sites which sell bats.)

Please bring your U3A membership card with you to your first meeting.

We look forward to seeing you.

PS. The rules have changed in recent years so to bring you up to speed we have included a link to The Official Rules on the right.
