Spanish (Consolidators)
We meet every Thursday morning from 9.45 to 11.15 in Hillcroft Park, Stafford between Rugeley and Cannock Roads.
Our work aims to help learners who have a strong basic proficiency in Spanish and who wish to consolidate this and improve their skills at a gentle pace with frequent opportunity for queries and clarifications.
We focus very much on speaking and listening skills and are using a course book Pasos 2 but adapted to the needs of ‘older’ learners, and also on-line videos, songs, poems, puzzles and a simplified reader set on the Camino of Santiago de Compostela. Our classes include both functional language to help with visits to Spanish speaking countries, and also more personal language to talk about families, likes, ideas, plans, opinions and so on.
The class has members with varied interests in Spain and Latin America, and we are always pleased to hear about their experiences and are happy to use these and any items they bring to the class as sources for study.
