Creative Writing
This group is meeting twice monthly on 1st and 3rd Mondays 11.00 - 12:30 in the Community Room at Asda.
Creative Writing celebrated its first birthday in November 2023.
We have all enjoyed writing and sharing stories and poems on all sorts of subjects, including ‘the past is a foreign country’, memories, journeys, family, nature, ‘doors’, ‘stars’, nursery rhymes, ‘water’, ‘refuge’, and more.
In June we had an informative and enjoyable workshop with the Staffordshire poet laureate.
We have invited a writer who specializes in getting memoirs into print to join us at a future meeting.
In this anniversary year of the Shakespearean First Folio, we will present our own takes, some comic, some serious, some entirely novel, on Shakespeare’s themes, and will no doubt have a lot of fun doing it.
Our popular group has enjoyed a consistently large and enthusiastic membership. We now have a waiting list but welcome enquiries from prospective new members.
