Handbell Ringing
We meet Monday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm at Trinity Church Stafford, in Room 1.
We play mainly for our own enjoyment but have several "performances" throughout the year when we share our talent (or lack of it!) with interested groups. Sometimes, if fitting, members of groups we visit like to try their hand at playing one of our simpler tunes. Although some are reluctant at first, they soon realise it's not as taxing as they thought and they really enjoy the participation.
We are considering a new method of playing, which would involve individual, or paired, players each with their own music. For this we would need small, tabletop music stands. If you have one you could donate or maybe you are a woodworker and could make us one please let us know!
The music we play varies considerably from Old Time Music Hall tunes to themes of Bach and Tchaikowski. We thoroughly enjoy ourselves on Monday afternoons.
