| Sat Jun 15th | Day Out Trip to visit WENTWORTH WOODHOUSE with the option to go on a guided tour of the house.- Travel is by Executive Coach.- Bookings Open in December 2023. Wentworth Woodhouse, once home to the Fitzwilliam family, is a Grade I listed country house and is one of the Great Houses of England, a mighty work of architecture, a palace of beauty and art. It was once as revered as Chatsworth, Blenheim and Stowe. It has over 300 rooms, most of which have not yet been restored but is surrounded by 50 acres of private gardens. It is one of Yorkshire’s hidden gems and is full of remarkable stories. It was bought by Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust in 2017. The Preservation Trust offers guided tours of the house and gardens. While not all of the rooms are open, the tours help to tell the story of this great estate, including the royal visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1912. |
