Spanish (Elementary)
This group meets on Thursday mornings from 11.30 to 1.00 at the leader’s home in Hillcroft Park, Stafford between the Rugeley and Cannock Roads.
We focus very much on speaking and listening skills and include both ‘functional language’ for travel, hotels, restaurants and so on to help with visits to Spanish speaking countries, and ‘personal language’ to talk about our families, likes, personal experiences, plans, and so on.
We use the BBC course Talk Spanish Books 1 and 2 plus on-line videos, songs, simplified short stories and puzzles, and build speaking and pronunciation, listening, role play and reading activities into each session. There are many opportunities, (after plenty of preparation time!) for members to talk (in Spanish, please) about their own lives and experiences.
Group members are happy to do a limited amount of homework each week.
