Mah Jong
We meet Weekly on Monday from 2 - 4 at The Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford.
Mah Jong (The Sparrows) is the Chinese Game of the Four Winds. It is similar to card games such as Rummy and Canasta but is played with small tiles instead of cards. In China it is known as a gambling game with a quirky protocol partly based on superstition. However, we play purely for the enjoyment of the game.
The basics of the game are easily learnt in one or two sessions. The group started with quite a few beginners, most of whom are already progressing to the 'special hands'.
New players are always welcome and beginners will be given help by some of the more experienced players.
