The current U3A SPANISH is a group that started as complete beginners in October 2019 The group still meets once a week for 1 1/2 hours to learn the Spanish language practising the four skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, we also learn together about the culture in the Spanish speaking world. Actually we are just about to finish our text book PASOS 1 that gives us structure, reference and guidance. Hence we learn in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We have not managed it so far, but a study trip to Madrid or Seville is definitely on the prospectus. If the group starts to dwindle, then we will start a new beginners group. So far there are still 8 very keen learners; and we have started learning tenses now. Learning a second language offers proven benefits for intelligence, memory and concentration and lowered risks of dementia and Alzheimer's ... Because language is complex, speaking or learning a foreign language gives your brain a good workout. It's good brain exercise that makes the brain stronger.
