There has been considerable interest in joining a family history group for beginners. Scunthorpe and District U3A has an established Genealogy Group but it can be confusing for those who are very new to family history. I have, therefore, started a beginner’s group which I plan to run for 6 months at least to get people up and started. They can then carry on at home and/or join the Genealogy Group when there is space.
Beginners’ Family History will meet at the Scunthorpe Bowls Club Clubhouse on the 2nd Tuesday each month from 10-12. There is some parking but there is always space on the road outside as well. The cost is £1 plus 50p for tea/coffee and biscuits. The Group is open to Scunthorpe and North Lindsay members. You do not need a computer or tablet for these meetings.
