Environmental and Sustainability
Our first meeting took place on Monday, 15th. April with an encouraging attendance of 10 members.
After watching a section of a video that Robin had kindly downloaded from the National U3a website entitled 'There is no Planet B,' by Mike Berners-Lee, we had an open discussion about global energy uses, measures to facilitate change, and whether these were effective.
We also shared some personal experiences of the effect of of climate change and what measures we might take as individuals.
E&S is a huge topic that covers every aspect of life, but it was agreed that, at the next meeting, we would continue the discussion on the ever increasing global energy use, and if we can make a positive impact on this.
Our next meeting will be at 1:30pm on Monday, 20th. May, 2024, at the Bowls Club, Lloyd's Avenue, off Ashby Road, DN17 1BY.
