The Local History Group has a membership of about 50 but as the average attendance at a meeting is about 15 - 20 so new members are welcome.
In the past year we have visited Macclesfield’s Silk Museum, two local churches, Walk Mill and Tattenhall Hall’s beautiful gardens. We have enjoyed a walking tour of Welsh Row, Nantwich and hope to do a similar tour of the centre of Nantwich soon.
In addition we have enjoyed talks and notably one by English Heritage about their Roundhouse project at Beeston Castle. We are lucky to have a member who is a volunteer for English Heritage and shows visitors around the Roundhouse.
Trips are being planned to Norton Priory and Speke Hall.
