Mah-Jong for Beginners

The roots of Mah-jong for Beginners - as happens with many u3a Interest Groups - were planted a few months ago with a chat over coffee between friends. We canvassed interest amongst other people and our group has now reached its maximum number of members.

We apologise in advance to anyone coming to this page for the first time, but - as we are currently full - we are not offering Taster sessions to any potential new members.

Mah-jong for Beginners caters for people new to the game who haven’t played before. It isn’t suitable for anyone who already has playing experience and is looking to return to the game, but wants an opportunity to refresh your skills and knowledge before going solo again as an independent player.

However, if you are a ‘returning’ Mah-jong player or an experienced player who wants to join a more advanced group, our Interest Groups' Co-ordinator, Mike Woollard, would be interested in hearing from you. If there are enough expressions of interest, especially from anyone willing to lead the group, a second Mah-jong Group for more experienced players could be set up.

You can reach Mike by going to the Contact page on this website. Click on the Interest group Coordinator button to send Mike an email.

Mah-jong for Beginners meets on the 2nd & 4th Friday of every month between 10.30am and 12.30pm in the Community Room at St Alban's Church, Tattenhall.
