Cryptic Crosswords

This flourishing little group meets fortnightly at 2pm in the Barbour Institute. In two hours, we aim to complete two crosswords sent to us in advance. One is slightly more difficult than the other but neither is too challenging. The intention is to have fun while learning a new cognitive skill.

Our 'bible' is Henry Howarth's book "Learn How to Solve Cryptic Crosswords". It is a useful tool which takes the mystery out of cryptic crosswords and offers hints on how the different types of cryptic clues work and how to spot them.

If you want to try some easy cryptic crosswords, try the ones here: https://simplydailypuzzles.com/daily-cryptic/. You can download a printable version and also the solution.
