Waltham Forest

Epping Forest Walks

Numbers vary from month to month as we are open to any U3A member who comes along. We walk mainly in Epping Forest and the Lee Valley Park and vary the location of the walk to stimulate interest. Recent walks have been at Highams Park Lake and various routes starting from Chingford Station.

Future walks are planned for Larkswood, Knighton Woods, Yates Meadow and possibly Yardley Hill and Wanstead Park. You don't need to be super fit, just able to walk easily and keep up a reasonable everyday pace. And don't forget to wear suitable footwear too as tracks can be muddy or stony. We take refreshments at the end of the walk.

Alan has prepared a risk assessment and would also be grateful to hear from anyone interested in helping him by taking up the official 'rear guard' position. Contact him if you can help.
