Waltham Forest

Epping Forest Walks

SPECIAL NOTICE 29th July: This group is still suspended. One leader has regretfully had to step down and there is also some concern that the Forest is incredibly busy at the moment.

It would be a great shame if such a friendly, informal and welcoming group falters? Lesley and Alan would be very happy to get suggestions for alternative routes and/or extra leaders (temporary or permanent). And maybe even a second group, for the "slightly less fit but but still keen to get some exercise" amongst our membership.

Numbers vary from month to month as we are open to any U3A member who comes along. We vary the location of the walk to stimulate interest; recent ones have been at Fishers Green, Knighton Woods and Highams Park Lake as well as Pole Hill and Connaught Waters. You don't need to be super fit, just able to walk easily and keep up a reasonable everyday pace. And don't forget to wear suitable footwear too as tracks can be muddy or stony.
