Thame & District

Jigsaw Group

This Group is a local jigsaw exchange, which is open to all members of Thame & District U3A.

Group Leader: Julia Worms
Please contact Julia if you would like to join this Group.

How it Works

Each member of the Group donates a jigsaw into the exchange and a different jigsaw will be delivered to their doorstep. Your donated jigsaw will be collected at the same time and go into the exchange. Once you have completed your new jigsaw (take as long as you want) or if you don't like it or have done it before just email the Group Leader and another swop will be organised. For those who don't have internet access I'm happy for you to give me a call.

All the jigsaws will be numbered and the Group Leader will endeavour to keep a record to ensure you get a different puzzle every time. Group members need to specify a size (i.e. 500 piece or 1000 piece) and the same size will be swopped. Requests can be taken for type (e.g. landscape) but the Group Leader can only use the items in the exchange so can’t guarantee to meet your request every time.

Hopefully all the jigsaws will be complete but if you find pieces are missing put a note on the box when exchanging it and it will be removed from the exchange.

Don’t worry if you haven’t got a jigsaw to start the process off as there are a number of jigsaws which are available to get members started.

All boxes are wiped down prior to delivery and the contents of the boxes won’t have been touched for at least 72 hours previously to avoid any contamination. The Group Leader will just leave the box on the doorstep and ring the bell so no need for contact and you will be asked to leave out your jigsaw in advance so it be can easily collected at the same time. The Group Leader will let you know what day and approximate time she will visit.

If anyone just wants to donate jigsaws in please get in touch as some donations can be accepted, but are limited depending on type, size, storage space etc.

Arrangements

Please just Julia know when you would like a swop - can be as often as you wish. She currently has a lot of puzzles in stock including more 500-piece ones thanks to a recent very kind donation. Julia is happy to swop and leave on doorsteps so there is no need for her to speak to you if you prefer no contact. Many of the members are within walking distance so it’s easy for her to include drops in her daily walk.

Also, if anyone else would like to join the Group Julia is happy to bring round a puzzle to start you off there is no longer term commitment or timeframe attached.
