Maths

Leader : Margaret Turner Meets on 2nd Monday of the month at 11am, in library of Queensgate Apartments

We welcome anyone who is interested in mathematics. A willingness to be open to new ideas is more important than expertise. We look at maths around us: in nature, everyday life ...

This is not a high-powered group. Mathematical knowledge or expertise is not required though it might help sometimes.
We look at Maths around us, maths that affects us whether we realise or not, topics brought up by members.
We occasionally look at something that does require a little more mathematical knowledge but make a fresh start at each session.
We do not do problems or puzzles but for anyone who would like these I have a little supply problem sheets sent out by the U3A maths/statistics adviser in the past.

Some previous topics are shown in the side panel.
