Sidcup & District

Craft and Chat

Leader : Pauline Springhall ; Meetings 1st & 3rd Thursday 10.00 am - 12 midday

The craft and chat started in 2018 with 4 members and now we have over 12 members.
It is a friendship group. It's members are mainly from Christchurch. We met on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month 10 am to 12 noon at Christchurch Church Sidcup in the Fellowship Room and talk while doing a variety of crafts with coffee and biscuits.
The group likes to produce crafts to sell at the craft fairs and money raisers for Christchurch church, such as soft toys, knitted and sewn goods, jams, chutneys and selection of clothing, hats, gloves and scarves. The group likes to make scarves, hats, gloves, jumpers, waistcoats and blankets which are given to a charity for the homeless. Also the group makes clothing for premature babies such as hats, cardigans and blankets when made the goods will go to a local Maternity department to be given to new mums if needed..

Recently the group have made post box toppers, depicting the nativity, Noah's Arch, a poppy display, Easter the stone rolled away and we are now working the Kings Coronation topper. A few members have had an outing in the summer to Alexander Palace for a craft fair to inspire us to do better with our crafting.
The group sometimes meets in the Chunky Teapot when we are unable to meet in the Fellowship room.

We welcome all new members just bring the materials for your craft and join in the chatting and make new friends.
You do not have to join in any of the projects above, just make what you want to make and enjoy mixing with others who love crafting in its different forms.

A new Craft & Chat Group is starting at Queensgate Residential apartments on Monday afternoons.
