You can never be certain what will happen at the Craft Group on Tuesday afternoons from 1.30 to 4.30. If you come along to room 4 at the Community Education Centre you will find a lot going on. Recently we seem to be doing a lot of knitting, from blankets, through socks to baby jackets and ‘Twiddlers’ in multicolours for people with dementia.
There was some instruction on crochet, granny blankets in progress, a patchwork dog blanket using scraps, items for a sale of work, colourful beadwork involving ‘knitting’ the beads threaded on wire.
We have a go at many crafts: bringing our own projects from appliqué to toy making, and all that lies between and enjoying a pleasant afternoon with a drink and biscuits halfway through. Recently some of us helped make a swamp witch’s wig!
It’s well worth coming along to take a look at what we do. There is no formal tuition but we help each other.
The cost is £2 per session and we pay £1 if we miss a week as the room fee has to be paid. It is a cheerful group and new members are always welcome. No experience required!
