March

Welcome

WELCOME to MARCH u3a.

Are you Retired but not Retiring?

March u3a is an active and friendly organisation for retired and semi-retired people who share skills, interests, knowledge and hobbies. Some people join to learn something new, others enjoy the social interaction. Conceived in December 2004 and formed in May 2005 we now have around 250 members and nearly 40 special interest and social Groups.

We have Groups ranging from Art to Walking, Dressmaking to Poetry. Take a look at the Groups page. If there is no Group that takes your fancy let us know and perhaps we have other members who are interested in starting something new.

Our monthly meetings are normally held in the Main Hall of The Braza Club, Elm Rd, March, PE15 8NZ (just past the level crossing) on the second Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm (Doors open at 1:40pm). Please check the Events page to confirm meetings. Do come along and see what we are all about before deciding whether or not to join us. You will be made most welcome.

These meetings bring together what is happening within the Groups and typically include an interesting presentation, usually by a guest speaker (see Events). Refreshments are normally available at these meetings. Annual membership is £20.00 for the membership year starting 1st April 2024. Additional costs may apply to individual Groups.

March u3a is a self-funded, self-managed and democratic organisation registered by The Charity Commission and endorsed by the Third Age Trust of the u3a.

The u3a part of 'March u3a' historically stands for University of the Third Age. Not sure what this 'University' is all about?

FOR A START, IT IS NOT, AND HAS NEVER BEEN, A UNIVERSITY AS WE KNOW IT! - in the sense that we don't give out qualifications in the shape of degrees or anything like that. Neither do we ask for a certain level of qualifications before you can join us. University here is only really used in the sense of 'universal' or 'for all'. You can read lots more on the national UK u3a website.

If you are interested in joining March u3a you can find more information on the Join/renew page. There you will find a Membership Application and Gift Aid form and our Constitution. On the Member page you will find links to our Data Protection and Privacy policies plus other useful information. These documents can all be downloaded and/or printed for your reference.

If you are still not sure why not come along to our monthly meeting and arrange a 'Taster Session' with a Group you may fancy.

MARCH u3a is a Registered Charity No. 1172951
