Ten Pin Bowling
This group was started by Don Stephen (salutations and thanks) in March 2014. Generally, we meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 13.45 for a 14.00 start at CJ’s bowling hall in Eldon Way. We avoid meetings during school holidays since the cost almost doubles! (current cost is £5.30 for two games). Numbers vary up 18 but we book lanes according to the number who turn up.
Most of us hire shoes and balls but some have purchased their own.
Bowling is excellent fun and quite good exercise for a couple of hours.
There are some competitive elements but we are always in competition with ourselves to improve.
We have only had one minor injury when one of group slipped and bumped his knee – treatment was rubbing the knee and he was soon better!! Cj’s do have first aid facilities but the activity is not inherently dangerous.
