Science and Technology
The Science and Technology Group meets once per month to discuss topics of general scientific interest, and is intended with all with an interest, no specialist knowledge required.
We have developed a format for the meetings that has been well received. Thus, each meeting will include a short talk (30 to 40 minutes), a short piece on one element of the periodic table, a discussion on a recent article that appeared in a scientific journal (nothing too complex!) and perhaps we may choose a molecule to talk about. We may also have trips of interest or talks by local science and technology experts. There is also a Christmas Science based quiz, but no specialist knowledge is required!
The events calendar will be updated with more detail when these are confirmed.
Each meeting is held at the Wellspring Church in Wirksworth, commencing at 2.00 pm. on the second Thursday of each month. The cost is £2.50 per member per meeting, which covers the hire of the room etc.
